SEPTEMBER PROCLAIMED CHIARI AWARENESS MONTH

          Boston- State Senator Richard Ross is pleased to announce September has been proclaimed Chiari Awareness month by Governor Deval Patrick. The proclamation was signed by Governor Patrick on Tuesday August 31, 2010. The proclamation was ordered so all citizens of the Commonwealth would take cognizance of this painful but usually unheard of neurological disorder.

VITAL RECORDS BILL STREAMLINES STATE REGISTRAR TRANSACTIONS

                Boston- State Senator Richard Ross today said he was pleased the Vital Records Bill passed the Massachusetts State Legislature. The Vital Records bill will streamline, the usually cumbersome and time intensive, transactions between the states registrar’s office and town clerks by making them available electronically. Vital records will be kept on a centralized database and town clerks will have access to them. The creation of a centralized database will also make it possible for the records themselves to be updated immediately without the need of the original physical document and be printed.

SENATOR ROSS LAUNCHES NEW AND IMPROVED WEBSITE AND NEWSLETTER

             Boston- State Senator Richard Ross is pleased to announce the launch of his Senate website and the debut of his monthly district wide newsletter. Both modes of communication are aimed to keep constituents informed and connected to what’s happening on Beacon Hill. The monthly newsletter will also be made available on the Senator’s website.

WRENTHAM AND FRANKLIN HOUSING RECEIVE CONSTRUCTION AWARDS

           Boston- State Senator Richard Ross is pleased to announce more than $145,000 from the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has been awarded to the Wrentham Housing Authority (WHA) and $77,880 to the Franklin Housing Authority (FHA). The WHA will replace the heating system at the New Emerald Lane family development and the FHA will use the money to buy 12 high efficiency oil furnaces for the town’s family housing development. The awards were funded with the ARRA Weatherization Assistance program.
