7-22-10 Senator Ross attends Massachusetts School Building Authority's Meeting
Boston- Senator Richard Ross recently attended the Massachusetts School Building Authority’s meeting to participate in selecting a designer to conduct a feasibility study for the Franklin High School project in Franklin. Nine local designers revealed their plans for the project to the members of the MSBA Designer Panel.
The DSP panel made up of 15 members, three of which are from the Town of Franklin, reviewed each designer and selected four to return to the next MSBA meeting on the Franklin High project where a finalist will be chosen.
MSBA, lead by Executive Director Catherine Craven, is an independent public authority which helps schools fund capital improvement projects for state school districts.
“Executive Director Catherine Craven and her team over at MSBA do a terrific job in making sure schools districts all over the Commonwealth have the ability make improvements in a fiscally and thoughtful approach where both the state and community get the best project plan available,” said Senator Ross. “This approach to school capital improvement plans is equitable and fair for not only the school district but for all parties involved. MSBA’s process for funding and implementing capital improvement projects for local school districts not only is an example of government transparency at its finest but is also an effective way to make sure a project is done in a timely and cost efficient manner,” said Senator Ross.
