ROSS, BARROWS AND POIRIER ENCOURAGES COMMUTERS TO ATTEND PUBLIC FORUMS ON MBTA SERVICE ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE AND ASKS FOR PUBLIC PARTICIPATION  Boston- Representatives Richard Ross (R-Wrentham), Jay Barrows (R-Mansfield), and Elizabeth Poirier (R-North Attleboro) are asking for public participation as a series of public forums get under way around the state soliciting feedback from those commuters who utilize MBTA services. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, who is planning a series of fare increases, has scheduled a number of public workshops and public hearings and is inviting people to attend and share any comments or concerns with MBTA officials.  All comments will be considered by MBTA staff and the Board of Directors for further action.  A court reporter will be present to record your comments. Representative Ross said, “This is a tremendous opportunity for those citizens who rely on public transportation to provide feedback to those officials who make decision that affect their daily lives.  People have varied opinions on the quality of service provided by the MBTA.  I encourage all of my constituents to try to attend a forum and let their voices be heard.”  “The MBTA is very important to our constituents and the communities that we represent, for the reason it is crucial for riders to come participate in the discussion and express concerns regarding service,” said Representative Barrows and Poirier. The closest forum is being held in Attleboro on Thursday, August 20th at the City Hall Council Chambers at 77 Park Street.  It will begin at 6pm and run until 8pm.  Other forums are scheduled in Boston, Braintree and Framingham.   If you’re unable to attend one of the events, please send your written comments to the MBTA at 10 Park Plaza, Boston, Massachusetts 02116.  You can also send your comments via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
